Club Policies
Responsible Service of Alcohol
The club has a policy for the responsible service of alcohol which include the following provisions:
- The club offers a wide range of beverages for the enjoyment of all patrons
- The club provides jugs of iced water at each bar on a complimentary basis
- The club does not encourage rapid or excessive consumption of alcohol
- The club will monitor and supervise the sale of alcoholic beverages to patrons who are determined to be adversely affected by alcohol.
- A full copy of the Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy is displayed at each bar for the information of our patrons. The policy will be implemented in the interest of our members and their guests so that they may enjoy our facilities in safety and comfort.
Responsible Conduct of Gaming
To promote the responsible service of gaming the club has a policy which complies with the various acts of Parliament which apply to the registered clubs industry. This policy will be implemented for the benefit of our members, their guests and the community in general.
The club encourages responsible practices in advertising and promotions to ensure that the club is not providing inducements to gamble. Signage to promote responsible gaming and where to seek help are posted in the gaming area and also throughout the club.
St Johns Park Bowling Club will not under any circumstances provide cash on credit cards or the cashing of cheques.
Members and/or visitors to the club have the right to exclude themselves from the club. In order to provide support and advice, the club’s managers are trained to be a confidential point of contact for patrons, or the families of patrons, who believe they may have a problem with gambling. St Johns Park Bowling Club encourages those patrons who self-exclude to keep in contact with the club so the club can assist wherever possible.
Providing information and training to club staff on problem gambling is essential. The concept of patron and employee care can help reduce problem gambling in the club. Staff are trained to ensure discretion in matters involving problem gamblers.
Privacy Policy
St Johns Park Bowling Club is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988. The Act contains 10 National Privacy Principles that set standards for the handling of personal information. The club has a commitment to privacy and the safeguarding of member, visitor and staff personal information.
Any personal information provided by you to the club (e.g. name, address, date of birth and contact details), including information collected as a result of a membership card being placed in a gaming machine or other club machine that is linked to a member loyalty system (not ATMs) that may provide a benefit or service to you, will be protected.
The club does not usually disclose your personal information to any other organization or person unless there is a legal requirement to do so. The club may also disclose personal information to relevant authorities if it reasonably believes there is a threat to an individual’s life, health or safety, or public health or safety. If the club has reason to suspect that unlawful activity has been, is being a may be engaged in, personal information may be used or disclosed as a necessary part of any investigation and reporting to relevant persons or authorities.
The club may disclose your information to third parties that provide services under contract to the club. These contracts require the third party to keep your personal information confidential and secure.
Your personal information, including information about you obtained as a result of you placing your membership card in a gaming or other club machine (not ATM) may be used by the club for marketing purposes to improve our services and to provide you with the latest information about those services and any new related services or promotions.
If you do not wish to receive information about services and promotions the club, on request, will remove your name from mailing lists.
You have a right to access any personal information that the club may hold about you, including a right of correction of your information. The club will generally not charge a fee for you to access your personal information.
